Molas are tapestries that are a hallmark of clothing design for the women of the indigenous Kuna tribe of Panama. Each hand stitched panel can take up to 100 hours to complete. These panels are stacked cloth and often the stiches are so tiny they can barely be seen. Traditionally used to make women’s blouses, the delicate embroidery also makes unique wall art.
Each mola is unique and thereby beautifully flawed in some way. However, you can be assured that you will have a one-of-a-kind piece of art.
